The Evolution of Promotional Products

Savvy business owners who knew how to market their business have printed their corporate logos and names on products that would certainly make their business known to the public eye. Promotional pens, mugs and other useful items are commonly used to promote a business or company. These products are called promotional products.

Promotional products or merchandise has been around ever since. The practice of giving out free products bearing a business’ logo or brand name in order to create a positive image of the business has been around since 1789.During this year George Washington used commemorative buttons for his election campaign. These buttons were used to create awareness about Washington’s campaign. Though giving out buttons is not solely the basis of why Washington won the election but it was a very successful advertising material.

Building a Brand Using Promotional Products

Have you ever wondered why there are some companies that give away t-shirts, mugs and pens in some corporate events?  These things are called promotional products or merchandise. These things are given by businesses and their owners to help them establish their brand. These small giveaways are very important in building a brand and for owners to etch their respective brands on the minds of the public.
Giving of promotional items has been around for some time. It is well noted in history that George Washington gave commemorative buttons during his election bid. These buttons can be considered as promotional items. Businesses in the past have given away bags, calendars and some wooden artifacts to their loyal customers. These gifts are promotional items and are very helpful in building a brand in the past. The act of giving promotional items was credited to Jason Meeks of Ohio. 3 Positive Promotional Pen Customers Stories

Here are 3 stories I would like to share from our satisfied customers. There are endless ways to use promotional pens and pencils.

Great for a Realtor
I laughed when I read your email asking for stories about pens we've ordered.I am now known for my pens. I order the same pen but in a different color and have since I became a Realtor in 2005.  I drop off pens wherever I go and when I revisit them they ask me for more.  They even comment if I've changed the color. They actually keep track of which ones they like.  I have clients who use my pens to sign contracts and then when we meet again ask me if I'd mind giving them more.  One set of sisters had one each to sign their contract and then I left some at the house we were selling.  At the closing they both whispered to me, 'can we have another pen?'.  At my hair salon the receptionist hides them from the stylists so she can save them for herself.  I walk in every 6 wks and hand her a few and she gets giddy! I've started handing them out saying, "you're going to love this pen and you'll be asking me for another one" and the next time I see them they say, omg, you're absolutely right!

I will never be without my Bic widebody to hand out!
Thanks for the great service and pricing!

Promotional Pens for Product Launches

Shared Customer Story:
My boss wanted extra promotional materials for our upcoming business product launch. I was surfing around the net when I saw Gary's website called and found this perfect logo pen by PaperMate called PaperMate Element. True to its name, I was persuaded by how it looked that I simply thought to myself that this is the right pen to use for the upcoming product and service launch. It was elegant, classic, it suited my boss’ tastes and our company’s purpose and it also tells what kind of company we are. I have a picky and fickle boss but when I showed him the website picture of the pen I chose he immediately gave me the nod, which is a signal that he wants it ordered in bulk and stamped with our company logo.

It wasn't just the image or the picture or how the pen looked like that won me over and my boss, it was also because it came with many different business appropriate colors and as my boss would say: “Variety is good”. I guess that is also one of the reasons why he was so quick to make the decision because it would normally take him some time to make a decision and he also wants his money’s worth; he’s just that kind of person.

Promotional Pens for Breast Cancer Awareness

Shared Customer Story:
I am in a group organizing for a Breast Cancer Awareness Symposium in my area. I found and they had this souvenir pens called the Hope pen which is very appropriate and matches exactly what we need as our group company pen. It makes a great giveaway because it is pink and it portrays the right amount of sensitivity for those who lost their loved ones to breast cancer and those who are going through it.  We want the symposium to end in a hearty, light-mannered way so as our parting gift to our participants we want to bequeath upon them little pink pens with hopeful messages to end the event well.

When I saw this logo pen, I immediately wanted to purchase it because it was simply perfect.  It was a friend who recommended the site to me; she gave me a link of the product and told me to check it out. So I did and I had the giveaway ideas crossed out of the bucket list. I am so glad that the website was made so efficiently that every instruction was made so simple and with a few clicks I only had to wait for order confirmation and the rest was history.

We just received the package yesterday and the timing was impeccable because I received the package implicitly on the day that the email said it would come, so cheers for the refreshing honesty and good service!  I didn't open and see the package until now and now that I saw it, I knew I had to write this testimonial to express my gratitude.

Advertising Pens for a Small Coffee Shop

Customer Story:
Years ago, I went to Paris for a tour with my family and fell in love with their quaint cafes and bistros. I have always wanted to get into the food and drinks business and when I got back to the United States was when I decided to start my own coffee shop. I spent so many nights with my friend who is also a consultant, writing a business proposal so I can get a loan and get started on my goals.

No matter how hard the times are, people keep coming back to coffee shops. It seems as if these businesses, especially the well-known ones are always packed with people. All types of personalities can be found inside such establishments. You can find writers, painters, businessmen, job-seekers among others. Coffee can be such a good stimulant because it wakes up the senses.

Promo Marketing Pens for Event Organizers

Shared Customer Story:
Organizing an event is not easy in any way. In fact, there are so many things to be planned. This is the reason why many people seek the services of an event organizer. I am happy to have this job. I find satisfaction in helping others make their plans into reality. Then again, it is not so easy to look for a client especially that there are so many other people who are into event organizing. I knew that I had to do something about the situation. I was aware of the tough competition around. I realized that I had to make a move right away.

I spent more time on my website. I wanted it to look better, and I made sure that people would be able to access it whenever they needed the services of an event organizer. I also recognized the importance of letting people know of my existence. It would be pretty much useless for them to know about me and my skills in event organizing if they did not know that I existed. I knew that I had to do something very similar to promoting a product or a service.

Promotional Pens for a Family Business

Shared Customer Story:

Me and my family have a small humble business passed down from generation to generation and right now, me and my husband are the present caretakers of the business and we want it to last well long enough to pass it down to our children in the future so that the cycle continues. The business nowadays is picking up slowly and we were thinking of promoting our new products in the market so that our business can hopefully be revived like it was in the olden times.

My father-in-law told me that you can never go wrong with promotional pens because as he said it doesn't cost that much unlike any other promotional materials and also, you can buy it by the bundle, it’s easy enough to carry around and it has an endless amount of advertising potential.

Promo Pens for Healthcare Professionals

Shared Customer Story:
As a nurse who is always on the go, there's no room for errors and inadequacy. We carry around a lot of things in our pockets and some are even hanging around our necks. We do not have the luxury of time to get things somewhere else, especially if there is an emergency. I have seen some colleagues of mine bringing different kinds of pens that will not either work when accidentally dropped once or worse, when it is newly bought. When emergency strikes, it is such a drag to scrummage for another writing material. It is such a waste of time.

One day, it was my rest day and I was able to think of browsing through some internet sites. In one corner, I was able to see an ad from that featured different promotional pens and their brands good for various purposes. There were over dozens of different models available. It is so convenient that they show pictures of the actual product. I managed to search for feedbacks over the Internet and all of them were all positive recommendations. So I decided to give the Option4 Ball Pen from Papermate a try. I chose this brand because it was widely popular to anybody who has seen a writing material. I also chose this specific model because this kind of logo pen has four different inks in one casing. It is so convenient and suitable for a nurse like me. I do not have to bring a lot of these since the different inks that I need are already in one stylus! Since they are advertising it, it must be good. I decided to give it a go and purchase it.

Company Pens for Business Processing Centers

Call Center Lady
Shared Customer Story:
As an operations manager in a big call center, I have a lot on my hands balancing between pleasing the clients and the front liners, the call center agents. Our clients are big telecommunications companies and there is a lot of pressure making sure that employees come on time and provide the best customer service experience to the callers.

Because they have to deal with complaints on a daily basis, the agents are often late or even worse, absent. This is not acceptable since one missing agent could mean the service level going down and the clients breathing down my neck about it. Most of my performing employees get demotivated when they do not receive anything in return for their efforts.

Instilling fear in them is not my kind of management. I do not want them to dread going to work and I certainly do not want them to lose their jobs as times are hard nowadays. With the failing economy, it is hard requesting for additional incentives. I am sure there are other ways to appreciate a person who makes a customer smile.
